TOPIC: Flood Damage in the Xeni valley

Flood Damage in the Xeni valley 28 Mar 2011 12:42 #2620

My brother in-law and I hiked the contour path between Sherman’s Cave and Xeni 11-13 March 2011. We could see the flood damage that was apparently done over the December - January period with all the rain that fell. The river bed were we crossed must have been 20m wide and trees looked like tooth pick in between the rocks. The photo shows some of the rock slides and the river bed that is just rocks.

Thanks for the update Deon. Add that to the flood damage on Cockade Pass which happened about 2 years ago. Though this is a natural phenomenon in the Berg, I guess we will see an acceleration of this given changes in weather patterns causing more rain.

Nice perspective on the Pyramid and Column...
