Thanks for the fantastic article on the express route to the base camp, Intrepid. I hope to use the info one day soon to get to see the Gokyo valley. The images in the gallery really get me wanting to go! How much (ballpark since the exchange rate is so up and down) would a flight to Kathmandu cost, and the link flight to Lukla in SA Rands?

Flights to Kathmandu can fluctuate considerably according to season and how far in advance you book. It can start anywhere from about R9000 and exceed R13 000.

Flights to Lukla are currently around US$ 110-120, one way.
