3 day Hike Suggestion?

Hi Guys,
Hoping for a bit of advice if possible.
I recently had my first proper hike in the Bergs (first Hike period), we were planning on doing the Bell traverse but going up Mlambonja pass and around.
So the climb up was tough but really gave us a bit of everything! We got a bit lost, steep climbs and everything else in between. Never made it to Twins on the first day as we left late and with getting a bit lost, it got dark..
Till this point, everything was as i said tough but excellent!
The first Major issue was a little after Twins Cave where there is an extremely exposed left corner which we had to pass.. I wasn't expecting it and most definitely was NOT ready for it..  Quite shaken after, we continued down for about 2km roughly, where we go around what i think is the Mitre ( i could be wrong with the name)  At this point it is a sheer drop, very narrow and too much for myself and the 2nd guy.  I had to turn back.
We have established that was a stupid hike for a beginner hiker, although quite fit, nowhere near enough experience for this kind of hike yet.. ( 3rd guy hiked the bell traverse years ago and never thought it would be a problem)
So my question is, what 3 day hikes could you recommend that can be physically hard but do not have such exposed spots?
Someone has said Mnweni pass and down Rockeries would be a great option. Any thoughts? Made myself a promise that i would not put myself in that position again, so i would appreciate any advice.
TIA
Cheers

I love the Mnweni-Rockeries loop. It's a great Berg experience with no real exposure, good caves, and easy navigation.

Hi ChrisK. I think evan some experieced people find those spots on the Bell Traverse a bit scary. Be assured that most routes in the berg will not have the exposure of the Bell Traverse. There is a thread on routes that have a bit of exposure somewhere on this forum, if you search for "Don't look down" you will find it. Can't remeber exactly the routes in covers, but the Bell traverse, Organ Pipes Camel route and Rolands Cave approach  are the ones that come to mind.

Outside of those you would typically not have "exposure" unless you go looking for it.

Nice 3 day routes for new people new to the berg are:

Rockeries / Mnweni loop
Ntonjelana / Rockaries loop
Organ  Pipes (via old fire lookout)/Malmbonja loop

Hi Chris,

Maybe add Giants Castle area to your list also. It's got very good routes without objective dangers (other than loose rocks in Giants pass).

I recommend Langalibalele Pass as most straightforward and you can do a loop with Giants. The one pass that gets steep and slightly technical is Elandshoek so save that for when you're older and crazier!
