Did it about three years ago. Quite overgrown coming out of the Mhlambonwa valley requiring some bushwacking. Once you get out of this valley going is Ok. Path gets a bit faded again below the horns. Water in the latter half of the route can be problematic in dry years.

Overall doable but children and people wanting a leasurely stroll might not be impressed.

Thanks BergAttie I appreciate the inputs. I managed to do this contour path section between Mlambonja base and Shermans’s Cave during the weekend of 21 March.

Going into the Mlambonja valley required a bit of bushwacking, going out of the valley to join the contour path leading to the One Tree Hill section was ok, there is a cairn indicating the exit point to the path. Then the first 4 km to the One Tree Hill junction is good with no concerns, where is passes through rivers/streams some overgrowth.

After the One Tree Hill junction the path is ok and as mentioned the path gets faded around the Inner and Outer horns.Where you cross the rivers/streams there are some overgrowth nothing too hectic and there is a fair bit of erosion especially the section after the One Tree Hill junction.

I can confirm that water in the second half of the path is a concerns with no water available. Can also say that it is overall doable but as BergAttie mentioned people wanting a leisurely stroll might not be impressed. You still get great views of the Bell and Cathedral Peak.
