Good Rain Q1 2017
Theme: Good Rain
Criteria:
Anything that depicts the evidence of good rainfall in one way or the other like healthy or flooding rivers and waterfalls, marshy bogs, very wet/drippy terrain and vegetation. Try to keep the focus on the presence of water. Showing something like a green landscape without any water evident in the photo would be more along the theme of "Green" which we have had previously. General rules and criteria that govern the competition should also be noted.

Tranquility
The little stream in the Yellow Wood Forest at Injasuthi. No tripod was used. Just a rock and the built in timer.
4 seconds at f/22 ISO 100 EV -0.3 @ 18mm Nikon D7000 body

There is a vast amount of water in the atmosphere - most of it invisible. We tend only to notice the tiny fraction that falls out as rain and gathers together in rivers and streams.
On days such as this, there is roughly 1.8x1011 litres of water in condensed form alone - even more as invisible water vapour above the sea of clouds - washing up against the Drakensberg escarpment. One hundred billion is a large number. It is roughly equal to the number of neurons in the brain or the number of stars in our galaxy or the number of observable galaxies in the universe. Some of the litres you can see in this photograph from Ifidi to the Mnweni cutback in January 2017 did fall out of the sky and collected in the rivers of Mnweni that others were having a hard time crossing. The good thing is that not all of it fell out.

Taken in December 2014, where we were watching some heavy rain and a full river from the comfort of Lower Injesuthi Cave.

The error has to do with the virtual memory set by the code running on the server. It could be a once off issue, but if this happens more than on the odd occasion please let me know. I will have it bumped up a bit.
I've uploaded the image for you here:

Sorry for the morbid name, but it sounded quite poetic.
Taken in the steady rain on the way up Mashai Pass. Although the proteas looked very cool, they were very annoying as the brushed past your leg and drenched you from the waist down.
