Good afternoon VE members, here are my 3 entries for the Open category. I would have liked to enter the Waterfalls category as well, but I simply did not have nice images. Congrats Ghaz on your winning photo!
This summer I will make destinations of some of the tall and lesser known escarpment waterfalls in the Drakensberg.
My 3 photos have short descriptions in the gallery notes
Icidi escape
End of the world - In pastel colours
Wild flowers and wild horses

The two images were taken on our recent hike (Oct 2021) in the Cathedral Peak and Didima areas.
The first pic was taken as I got close to Schoongezigt cave. Stunning setting. Lovely night next to the river.
The second pic was taken the next day from Rolands cave, overlooking the organ pipes and looking far into Natal. Peaceful setting, which became slightly more stressful as it started raining during the night, which would make the walkout a tad more dangerous.

My three entries are as follows:
Morning Reflections
While exploring above Sherry Cave in the Hidden Valley at Garden Castle in May of this year, I discovered a beautiful tarn on the plateau above the Mzimude River just past Puffadder Rock. I Had to pay a visit to it for some sunrise photos.

Mirrored Splendour
An alternate morning view of the tarn on the plateau above the Mzimude River just past Puffadder Rock.
Mirrored Splendour Link
Coloured Dragon
An appreciation of the smaller creatures in the environment in which we enjoy hiking; seen sunbathing on the rocks at the pool below Cyprus Cave in Mkhomazi in September 2019.

Hi Intrepid and other VE members, thanks for the support and I am happy that you liked the entry! Looking at the photo again, it will remain special to me, long after the date it was taken. Thanks to the KZN section of MCSA; it is long overdue that I become a member, and join some of the organised events. Regards Nicolaas
