The admin team of VE thank you for your patience while we were upgrading the site. The new site is aimed at improving interactivity (what else is the web good at?), and we hope to hear feedback from you, the user.
We apologise that it has been so long in coming, but both of the admins also have day jobs and we do this in our spare time. We hope that the new site will encourage more users to get stuck in to contributing to the forums and also the galleries. Our vision for VE has always been for an interactive melting pot of people across the globe who share mountains as their common love and interest. We had also hoped it would be financially viable for us to do this, and as such we encourage advertising on the site, which will continue to cover our hosting and software costs.
We look forward to a vibrant community sharing our love for mountains (not only the Ukhahlamba Drakensberg complex) and the solitude they offer, as well as their inherent dangers. We have loved what the site has brought to us so far in terms of community, and want to thank all those who have contributed so far, and extend an invitation to those who have been in the background to be involved. This site is intended for the community who love and partake in what mountains have to offer.
Please come back often as we endeavour to keep this site as up to date with issues and current news as is possible. Welcome also to the new moderators and grateful thanks to the testers who checked the initial site prior to going live!
