Escarpment pass map/photos

Just a thought, not sure how keen everyone else is to do this - but I find photos of the escarpment with the peaks and passes marked to be very helpful in learning an area or planning hikes. I'm pretty sure that across the 120 odd passes currently recognised on this forum, between all of us there are probably very few passes that nobody has done.

I'll take a few spots that I know well, 3 here for a start:

Giant's Castle area:

Garden Castle south of Rhino:

Bushman's Nek:

I enjoy these kind of pics, but have less time to do them these days. David Dodds has labelled panoramas of most of the KZN Berg in his book A Cradle of Rivers, just the main peaks and passes etc.

This is one that I did a while back of the Mkhomazi area viewed from Ngaqamadolo:

Take nothing but litter, leave nothing but a cleaner Drakensberg.

Is King Kong 3000m? That would make it a khulu as its "free standing" (Inner/Outer Horn case).

Wow...A nameless peak at 3465m. That is basically Makheka height....

Shows what role historical efforts play in the naming of peaks.

Thanks to both for posting these images, something I enjoy much.

That has since been informally named Thabana Ntlenyana II and is 2nd highest on the VE Kgolos list.

The 3401m peak I beleive is Mangaun.

@Ghaz - you have Xeni Pass marked correctly, but I know the other fork (one notch to the left) has also been used before.

Also, you have copied Tseketseke Pass twice..

Easter Cave Peak and Twins Top are both visible, but I didn't have space to add the names.

Correct, both names being up for debate, should there be something more suitable. T. Ntlenyana II is pretty close to the main T.Ntleyana summit, so it would be difficult to ever see it as more than just a satellite summit. This is also the case for another 3400m+ satellite summit to the North West.

Seems to be the case.
