Last weekend we hiked up Walkers Pass from Whytes Cave intending to overnight at Corncob and Mzimude Caves respectively.  We were a party of nine, two people had a tent, and the rest of us were going to split between the caves.  Upon reaching Corncob Cave we found that the shepherds have taken it over and rearranged it.  The immediate area is thick with sheep dung, they have made fires and we even found a baboon skin inside.  It was clear that no one could stay here in its present condition so the entire party moved on to Mzimude Cave.  Here we found a similar situation, the stone walls have been moved and a cubicle made towards the back of the cave.  The cave further along was fine, as was the lower cave in the gully below.  As we had little choice, we tried to clean it up as best we could.  We were able to fit three people in the cave with one person half in and half out - fortunately there was no rain that night.  The others split up between the other two caves.  So anyone planning a trip to either of these caves, be warned!
