A policy governing Use of Fixed Protection and Bolting in the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park World Heritage Site, developed by Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife & Mountain Club of South Africa KZN Section. The goal of these norms and standards are to provide a mechanism to prevent possible detrimental impacts to the values of the World Heritage Site due to climbing in the Drakensberg.
GPS data for the Standard Route (North Ridge) of the Pyramid, Cathedral Peak, Northern Drakensberg. Includes tracks for the exit from the Tseketseke Valley, traverse below the Pyramid, and scramble up the North Ridge. Waypoints include the exit point from the Tseketseke Valley, the neck below the "Shark's Tooth", water supply along the route, the point at which the ascent of the North Ridge begins, the bottom scrambly pitch and the main, F1 pitch.
My GPS did not accompany me beyond the main pitch to the summit on this trip, but at this point GPS navigation is no longer needed anyway. For clarity, theoretical waypoints for the summits of The Pyramid and for the Shark's Tooth are included.
Note: climbing The Pyramid requires moutaineering skills and equipment. The approach up to the North Ridge covers steep terrain but is of a non-technical nature. There is no trail nor any markings. The scramble up the North Ridge becomes increasingly technical.

This is a straightforward B grade scramble up grassy slopes, mostly on an established track, with a short C grade move near the summit. The split to view the hole is before this crux to the left, along an exposed track on steep slopes.
