actually you make a good point on the choice of bag.. I find a -5 comfort rated bag is about right for me for the Berg temp ranges but I sleep fairly warm I think and for women I've noticed they run a bit cooler and need 3 to 5 deg more heat from an equivalent bag. That is of course presuming reasonable accuracy with the ratings.
After that it comes down to weight and packing size/ compression for packing and carrying it. I'm curious to know what others use and what spec of bag works generally?

Personally I sleep very warm and have been using a First Ascent Ice Atom for the past 7 years. Its tiny, very light and has kept me warm even in winter in the berg (and my trek to EBC) even though it's only rated at 0°C. I do have a inner sheet bag liner which I find reduces the rating by around 5°C and helps to keep the bag clean. Most of the time I unzip it completely and use it as a blanket over me as I find it too warm outside of the winter months.

Papa Dragon,
You summed it up nicely. I have two in the box as well - if anyone wants to buy them, pm me

@Carl Gebhard
It is a really old bag but strange that Googling doesn't bring anything up - I also tried without success. The tag on the bag is so faded it cannot be read but I did check - it is definitely a First Ascent Ice Atom. Same shape as the Ice Nino so I assume that the Nino has superceded it. Maybe is a knock off but I doubt it as it was purchased from Outdoor Warehouse if my memory serves me correctly.
Although I have 3 bags this is my go to one as it keeps me warm and only weighs 850grams so takes up very little space in my bag! Over the years I have become wiser with carrying and my overnight bag is now a 42L bag.
