It can be noted that 3 of these peaks are situated entirely in Nepal (more than in any other country) and that 8 are shared with another country.
It should also be noted that there are around 21 summits above 8000m though not all are included in the official list above. The debate as to what makes a summit an independant peak can be an interesting one. Some of the more prominent ones in Nepal are listed in the table below.
The following list is an attempt to present Nepal's top 30 summits which are recognised and climable. Whether or not these summits are peaks within their own merit is not taken into account here. No responsibility is assumed for accuracy though it does provide a good idea of what is out there.
