OK guys, its finally here. Check out the newly launched wiki!

In order to get involved you need to first be a member on VE and then send me a request to join the wiki. I will then manually create an account for you with a similar username.
There is not much in the wiki currently, and in time things will be fine-tuned and shaped nicely. It isn't hard to understand how it works, and you get into it fairly quickly. The idea is that you add pages and edit or add to what other people have written. Its very simple. I have only added page called Drakensberg, which you can find by doing a search. Anyone with an account can edit that page now.
We will be shaping the philosophy for running the wiki over time, but briefly the idea is for it to be factual, definitive, to the point. It is an online encyclopaedia and will function very much like Wikipedia does. It should not be story based, or personal and opinionative, though observations on people's opinions can be made eg "Ships Prow Pass is regarded by many to be long and arduous pass". The idea is to take everything recorded on VE, particularly the forums and blogs, and draw conclusive facts from them. This need not always be in great detail and links back to the references should always be provided.

You may have noticed I've put a menu item up for the wiki at the top. So you can now browse the wiki with this site as a wrapper, or you can view the wiki directly by browsing to it's domain name given in the link above.
A reminder that you need a separate account to contribute to the wiki, and you get this by requesting it from me via a PM. Currently there is no automatic link between your VE account and the wiki account, but I will ensure that your login names are the same. Over the next few weeks I will be creating accounts for active members on the forum, so don't be surprised if you get an email concerning this. Don't feel left out if you don't get an email, just ask!
