Can anyone explain why the font type changes within a post, and how do I make it uniform?
I suspect that it happens when I prepare a report in Word and then copy & paste to create a post, so maybe the reason is the font that I use in Word needs to be compatible with the VE website.
(I do realise that this is pretty trivial in the larger scheme of things, but still it'd be good to know as I am not the only one with this issue).
Thanks.

Yup that will be it Andrew.
I usually put a write up into Notepad first, and then onto the forums.

Indeed. That removes all the HTML problems you may have and is good practice for any website work too

So the forum currently employs a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor when you write a post. This replaces the older BB Code. As nice as this new editor is, unfortunately the toolbar for adding emoticons was removed with this new feature. I can only bring the emoticon toolbar back with the BB Code editor. I am hoping the developers of this forum software will fix it at some point. You can still add emoticons by typing the code for them in your text - you just have to know what the code is. Below is a list of emoticons you can use on this forum, and the text code you need to add them:
