Sale of VE Members Photography Prints

Mornings Guys

I was looking at some of Serious Tribes images of Mweni and wondered if I could purchase one or two in some way? So it turns out that due to copy write and the a number of other issues this wasnt possible.

I was thinking that the forum may actually be great place to put up photos you are willing to sell and we could organise some sort of formal but informal print of these images. Maybe a paypal type of payment method? Anyone of VE own a printing business?

I know this would be quite a lot of work (Chris?), might only be a small market, but I think there may be a number of us who would like to find place for a nice A2 canvas print of Mweni in our lounge?

Let me know your thoughts.

Frosty

I think we all would like to have some A2 canvas Karl Beath photos hanging on our walls - for me that "Clearing Storm" one (Cathkin peak from near the Bell after a thunderstorm) is quite possibly my favourite Berg photo ever - but he is a professional photographer so we can understand why he can't just let us get his photos printed, even for a fee.

As for other photos - not sure if there are any other professional photographers on the site, but I'm sure I speak for most of us non-professional photographers in saying that if someone wanted to get one of our photos printed, they could just inbox the relevant person and ask for permission. I don't see why this would be an issue if the person printing it will merely use it in their home, not distribute it, include a credit to the photographer on the print (e.g. in the bottom corner) and agree not to sell the photo.

How much interest is there for this from buyers and sellers? We can always look at facilitating something if there is sufficient interest, else if its just a few individuals it would simply be easier to simply message the person concerned.

I don't have a problem if someone prints a low res images (from the site, for free), but for a high res I would like to add a price tag to it. Professional or not, a photo is intellectual property and takes hard work. Additional heavy expensive gear, waking up before sunrise, etc, etc...
