A Great Big THANK YOU was created by Serious tribe
I think a GREAT BIG THANK YOU is in order to Chris for navigating us successfully through another year of Drakensberg Travel.
In addition a thank you to those that have been involved in the Cable Car saga, for inputs, reports and moving things along. Chris needs a big hand for this as well.
And to all those who have contributed to the various forums with info and the ike and starting up interesting threads and providing reports, images....the list goes!
Thanks
Guys and Gals

I second that!
It remains a pleasure at all times to read, and occasionally contribute, to Vertical Endeavour. Due to the absolute enthusiasm for things Berg and Vertical displayed on this site, it is always a virtual visit looked forward to.
An important thing I must add, and that was said this time last year as well: VE-forum remains one of the cleanest and most kind-natured forums out there. I am not a internet-social regular and has almost no on-line presence/profile, however I have in the past contributed to a small number of forums, this one as well as some hifi forums and sports car forums. This is by far the best-natured one of them all. Even within some tough topics raised from time to time related to Berg conservation etc, it remains clean and witty but never ill-natured.
It says a lot about:
- forum administration.
- Members.
This is one (Probably the only one) on-line community I am proudly a member of.
I am looking forward to each daily VE visit, and hope to (once this damn knee is strong enough again) contribute again this year with some Berg / Maluti related endeavours.

Too true! Absolutely agree with all the above. Thanks to all the regulars as well as the new administrative team that do all the behind the scenes work, and a specific eco of thanks to Chris! Not only for this last year, but for plodding along in the early days of this site, when users were much fewer, thank you for not just allowing it to all slowly vanish away!

Indeed a big
to Intrepid for another good year.
Re the cableway: special thanks to ST and Intrepid for their valuable input over Christmas in getting that report on the business plan done. It would not have been possible without your input.

Thanks for those kind words, and thank you for your appreciation. Makes it all totally worth while. Truly the site would not be where it is, if it weren't for everyone's interest, participation and enthusiasm! So thank you everyone for that. VE remains not driven towards profit, and is run on private time. Nonetheless our commitment to nurturing it and seeing it through to a sustainable future remains. Increasingly there are those that are taking on extra roles on the site, and those who help and advise behind the scenes - extremely grateful to you.
Also a great pleasure to meet people from the site out there in the Berg.
Above all, may an appreciation, pride and awareness of southern Africa's mountains be firmly entrenched in our hearts. Particularly for the Maloti-Drakensberg.
All the best for 2014 everyone!
