Welcome to the new VE!
As mentioned previously this upgrade was necessary to keep the software current, ensuring ongoing smooth operation of the site. While there are no major new features currently, hopefully the few minor improvements will be useful.
The fixed width of the layout provides a very uniform display across all devices, browsers and screens. Understandably some with wide screens may miss the flexible width of the old site.
Huge amounts of time and effort has gone on behind the scenes for this upgrade. It actually was more along the lines of a migration, rather than an upgrade. Everything seems to be working, though there will undoubtedly be some issues which will need adjusting and over the coming days I hope to have these ironed out.
Please clear your browsing history, or at the very least the history specifically for this site, and refresh the pages if necessary. Otherwise some of the gallery images will appear blurry.
It will be helpful if you report broken links too.
Many thanks to diverian, eras, ghaznavid and Viking who helped with the testing of the demo site.
And many thanks to all members who make this site what it is.
Enjoy!

Thanks Intrepid
I like the new index section at the bottom!
A couple things:
None of the links in the Passes section are working www.vertical-endeavour.com/blog/38-drakensberg/passes/64-passes-of-ukhahlamba-drakensberg-park.html
I somehow ended up on this page www.vertical-endeavour.com/forums/forum/forum/recent.html
Clicking on the Forum link directs you back to the same page giving a 404
Search the site link on this page doesn't work either
Is it possible to add a user option to view in widescreen?

Another thing, I see all times are GMT, can't find a user setting to change it to GMT+2
Clicking on your username at the top gives a 404, where it says " Hello Smurfatefrog" above Index
