Got struck between the eyes with an idea.

Post a pic of your pair [ boots !] in action here.

More air the better.

Here goes.

Them's Becks of Stealths' are finished fellas. We had to stitch the soles back on with cable ties, nylon and a Leatherman. But they completed ka-Ntuba and a gnarly that I can not recall at this hour. About 60k's round trip.
Replaced with Meindels' - I think.
Sportivas rock.

Finally sorted. My BOOTS are showing.

Where's the BOOTS folks? They work hard, they deserve some publicity!

I wore boots on just one Berg trip - ever, so I'm fresh out of material for this thread. But I thought it was worth uploading this pic of my mate, Humf, leading the crux on Mponj standard route. Seems jeans were the forerunner of snazzy climbing lycra. And those Dunlop Silver-Flash tackies were on special in Game but I do remember saving up for a couple of months for a size two and a half Friend, which doubled the number of cams we had on the rack. Here you see Humf digging it out to bury it under the chockstone on the route that George Thompson pioneered. We rapped off using chord that we found hanging a banner up at a nearby shopping centre. The bonus of that route was that we came across a near-new 9mm rope stuck near the top of the rapp chimneys. And the more amazing thing was that we found another near new 9mm stuck on the same pitch the next time we climbed Mponj a year or so later. That set us up for Berg climbing for a few years.
