I always find some brands of gear always let you down. :thumbsdown:

Thats why I want to start a forum (on VE) about gear, and the ways we can get these producers to change the way they make there gear. Like a couple months ago, someone fell and died on a Via Ferata :ohmy:

bcause of a gear failure. I think we can help some people by posting information on gear, and answering their questions about it. All I need is the go-ahead to start the forum. :thumbsup:

Hi Mike, and thanks for your suggestion.

There is already a dedicated category for gear on this forum, simply called "Gear". I moved this post to that category already. If you go through that category you will see some general topics already like "Tents" etc as well as some more specific topics. We did also attempt some gear reviews in the blogs and to get some more interaction with gear manufacturers, but didnt get very far.

We will continue to find ways of developing the gear emphasis of the site.

Take nothing but litter, leave nothing but a cleaner Drakensberg.
