Obviously depends on foot shape, etc, but my go-to shoes right now are the Asics Fuji Trabuco. They used to be stability shoes which is why I avoided them, but the 6th edition is now a neutral shoe and I've really enjoyed running & hiking in them. These are not minimalist shoes, have a bit of cushioning and probably an 8-10mm heel drop. I've always found the grip on Asics trail runners to be excellent too. Like most trail runners, they've started developing some holes in the uppers after 700km - should be able to use them until about 1000km before I'll need to replace them (with the same pair, I think!).
