Yesterday we found a herd of sheep halfway up towards the contour path on the giants ridge track.
surely the ezemvelo must be aware of this? This is bad news. From the droppings it’s obvious they have been there quite a while.

Not good. Thanks for sharing.
I have just notified Ezemvelo Security Manager via WhatsApp.
@Mountain100
If you have more info please submit it here, eg Did you see any shepherds, any more photos?

We have also noticed a flock of sheep, probably the same flock. It was 4 km from Giant's Castle Camp, on the Giant's Ridge. We have reported it in the mountain register. No shepherds nearby. It looked like good stock, Mutton Merino type.
Edit: This was also yesterday.

I'm beginning to think I'll never need to take shank and chops to the berg again.

Horses still there on 31/12/22.
Looks like they've been there some time. Lots 'n lots of manure. Reported to Giants front desk with photos (they even mentioned "That other guy also said the horses followed him", could be grae22?). They did say they'll forward images I provided to Conservation Manager.
And my subsequent follow up...no response.
Also looks like sheep manure but I'm no farmer:

Hi Charl,
That's not sheep dung. Sheep dung comes in pellet form
Cattle, horse perhaps, but not sheep.
