A day to die for

Just finished reading the new book from Graham Ratcliffe "A day to die for" and it didnt disapoint.It is his research on the events on Everest 1996.I will like to recommend this book to anyone who shares this interest and will like to hear other people opinion on this book.I dont think he is such a good writer as Jon Krakauer but his research is amazing.Great book to read.

I also read it recently. It was a very interesting read and brought the whole incedent into better focus. Amazing what happens when a mountain becomes a profitable business!!!

I have read both Krakauer and Anatoli Boukreev "The Climb". Krakauer is on crack, after Boukreev I cannot believe anything he writes. Krakauer must be read, only to see what commercial drivel and an agenda of libel look like. Boukreev is thoroughly likable, convincing and has much to contribute outside the controversy. Boukreev is a Physicist like I am, we are trained to observe and speak truth no matter the political consequences, and money means nothing to us. Many American Physicists look down their noses at Russians, but I can testify there is no basis for this snobbery, there are as many if not more political Physicists (and writers and mountaineers) in the USA for sale to the highest bidder.

I am certainly interested in a third source, thanks for the lead!
