I used a K-Way Kilimanjaro II Thermashift bag. It weighs 1.8kg, is supposedly -8C and was not warm enough on some of the nights.
A First Ascent Ice Breaker, Mountain Hardwear Lamina 20 or similar bag should be sufficient.
You can hire sleeping bags in Moshi, they aren't particularly cheap, though. You can also get bag liners there. Ask Malcolm what the prices are, he should be able to give you a good informed decision.

Thanks for the quick reply Ghaz! Did you wear gloves, or is it unnecessary (I will be hiking with trekking poles, so my hands will be exposed all the time)?

My R800 gloves weren't good enough, so make sure you get a good pair of gloves.
