There is an application to prospect for Gold, Copper, Iron, Nickel and Tungsten on the slopes of this environmentally vital and beautiful mountain.

Step One:
Email the Environmental Assessment Practitioners (Mafanele Geo-Enviro Consulting and Projects) at one or all of these email addresses:

Include the following information in the subject line:
Registration as an IAP for prospecting by Consulting Evolution Mining (PTY) LTD for Paerora, Allande, Fountain Head DMRE Ref LP 30/5/1/1/2/16285PR
In the email request that you be registered as an IAP (Interested and Affected Party) and also request that the relevant documentation including the Basic Assessment Report (BAR) and the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) be sent to you. Request any information on dates and venues of possible public participation meetings.
Step Two:
Once received, read all the documentation and send your comments regarding the documents and the prospecting back to the EAP (Mafanele Geo-Enviro Consulting and Projects).
Await information on public participation meetings and also their response in writing to all the comments sent in by all interested and affected parties.
These will all be sent to Department of Mineral Resources who will make a decision.
You will be informed of the decision on whether prospecting will be authorised or not. If it is authorised an appeal process can be lodged.
Registering as an interested and affected party is vital. This will show the amount of interest in this area and that mining is not supported by a wide range and number of people.
