Description

This was from a solo hike in August 2011. Approaching Cowl Pass from the Ship's Prow Campsite. I wasn't sure yet whether Cowl Pass would be doable, but as I turned the corner, it became obvious that the sunnier North-facing slopes had much less snow on them. I spent a very lonely but memorable night in the 1-man Cowl Cave Annexe that night, feeling very remote and exposed indeed.
