Hello,
I was thinking of going to Lakes Cave in the Cobham area in the near future. But I am finding it difficult to get good information on the cave.
Basically I would just like to know if it is suitable shelter in this cold weather, if its clean, and safe for just a few people.
Its hard to tell how sheltered a cave really is from photos. If we compare it to Lower Injisuthi cave, is it less or more sheltered?
Sorry if it comes across as a silly question or if I have missed something somewhere else on the site.

Clean and safe shouldn't be an issue. Smugglers do pass near the cave fairly often but I haven't heard of them using the cave, they are generally not a threat anyway.
Shelter, it is not very protected, especially from wind down off the escarpment. Definitely less sheltered than Lower Injisuthi

Thank you for the information, it is much appreciated. I think it likely that we might wait for warmer weather then to attempt this one first time.
Or maybe just camp at Cobham and day hike out to have a look.
