Hi VE family,
As part of a little solo hike I have I'm hoping to spend a night in a cave near Champagne Castle (CC) in August - more late August.
I'm traveling as light as possible so it'll only be a bivy bag and sleeping bag.
What are your suggestions for caves around CC, keeping in mind minimal gear and safety being solo?
Thanks!

The closest cave is Nkosazana Cave, its about 2km from Champagne Castle, and not much of a detour, depending on whether you approach from the valley or ridge
If you are behind schedule and doing the Yoddlers ridge route, then you can use Didima or Yoddlers caves
If you are ahead and near Mafadi then you can head to Upper Injisuthi cave

Hi Bergdog
Welcome on VE!
2 caves you can consider in the Champagne Castle area would be Nkosazana cave near the top of Grays pass, or then Upper Injasuthi Cave near Corner pass/Mafadi area.
Also lots of camping spots next to the river areas. Do take note that caves could be occupied and consider your strategy should it start to rain/snow. Nkosazan cave can sleep about 6 people, UIC 9 or more if the people are small. UIC will place you close to Mafadi, which I'm sure you'd like to see.

This seems to be the consensus. I'll look for those and find the GPS coordinates so I'm not stumbling around in the dark
Capacity advice is also really helpful!
