I hope you do go again. It would probably be a good thing to replace the nightmare memories you associate with Mponjwane Cave with good ones, and to correct the (navigational?) mistakes you made on day 1.
Everyone just note, there are still 2 locals living in Shepherd's Cave since before January, so that cave isn't available, but Five Star Cave just around the corner is. I'm not sure who the locals are, they could be the stock theft monitors, but sure are an inconvenience to hikers wanting to use the cave.

Haha, yes those navigational errors cost us, we went up the valley just to the north of the nTonjelana and only realised our mistake as a typical summer storm rolled in. By the time we got to te rivercrossing, wet and scared, it was impassable and we had to make due with a very long second day. Just looking at the photos now, I don't think I'd make the same mistake again...
