I'm thinking either Mohlesi or KaNtuba

So which is it? I can picture ghaznavid frantically paging through the Khulu galley...

Nah sorry mate, it was the other. Good call though. I understand what made you think it was Mohlesi though, and that was part of the fun. :) Mohlesi has somewhat gentler and more grassy southern slopes, and doesn't have big cairns (actually barely any cairns...making it hard knowing which is the exact summit). This is kaNtuba Buttress, the lower of the two kaNtubas, but one of the very few 3300m summits which look straight down into the hills. Giants Castle is the best example of that though.

BTW - really nice example of the subtropical inversion layer in Intrepid's last photo - that stripe across the sky separating the dusty atmosphere below from the clean air above which results in turn from the increase in temperature with height. There is some evidence which suggests that the sinking air which causes the inversion originates from the Asian Monsoon.

This is either difficult or else % are being carefully conserved!

How about the escarpment near Bannerman hut?

That rounded dome on the right is Wilsons Peak. Peak on the left is the summit just north of Wilsons Pass. To get that angle you may have been somewhere above the Code Eye Cave valley, or perhaps somewhere off the beaten track in the Mlambonja valley?

@mnt_tiska: I was hoping someone would think its that! But no...

@Intrepid: That is Wilson's peak, but it wasn't taken from Wilson's Pass (I don't remember being able to see Wilson's Peak from Wilson's Pass). It was taken from about 500m before Pillar cave... Can't get anything past Intrepid...
