well I was hoping this pic would keep you guys guessing, and it did...for several pages, even with lots of help from me. It was gratifying to have the great ghaznavid offer his white flag too! Yes ghaz, thats close enough...the closest named feature to the location of the shot is Mangaun Pass...not exactly right there, but close. That peak that spoofed you guys is nameless , sorry. It is a Khulu though. In my own notes I refer to it as "Twin Peaks", and from below it looks like a set of cat ears close together (with another peak) - that may even be a better name for it. I think this may be what Murch referred to as "Big Ears", but this ridge actually has several Khulu candidates - what appears to be the top of the ridge in that photo is in fact not - kaNtuba Pass is still a bit on from there. The smugglers have chosen to ignore Mangaun Pass (possibly because of terrain) and have instead established their own route which starts right next to that peak.
Take nothing but litter, leave nothing but a cleaner Drakensberg.
