So, what ever happened to Bergfly? Those of you who have been trawling the web for berg resources for years will probably remember the geocities site with pass descriptions and photos which preceded mine.
The short-cut URL was something like fly.to/theberg and it even had a little forum on it. I believe the only active members were Bergfly himself, Magan and I
I'd say that was one of the first little berg communities online and it's great that intrepid has finally gone and done it properly with this site!
So does anybody know what happened to the site owner? Is he possibly a member of this forum? His site inspired many a berg trip for me while I was in high school and ultimately gave me the idea for the Super Traverse.

Yes, his site, along with Stijn's Supertraverse site where among the first that I was aware of. You guys both had great write-ups on passes. Luckily Stijn has made his material available for republishing on this site - so thanks for that! And yes, there was a Berg forum before this one. I stumbled onto it shortly before it died. I still saw some cached pages of it on another website not so long ago. I have all the Bergfly material from geocities saved in PDF format. Can't publish it unless I have his permission, but if anyone wants a copy just send me your email address via PM.
His domain name was bergfly.org, which was in addition to the geocities material.
