Northern Berg Accommodation? was created by Boerkie
Please help with suggestions on possible Northern Berg accommodation options. I have to be in Harrismith ons Saturday for business and want to take my family with for the weekend. I would prefer to be as close as possible to the amphitheater (views).
I've tried:
Witsieshoek
Berghouse
Orion Mont Aux Sources Hotel
but all are fully booked. If all else fails their is 1 Superior room still available at Drakensberg Sun. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thx

Hotel Category:
- Hlalanathi
- Alpine Heath
- The Cavern
- Montusi
- Little Switzerland
B&B/Self Catering
- Tower of Pizza (B&B accomodation, but they have a restuarant right there, not just great pizzas but a large menu)
- Amphitheatre Backpackers (have got more luxury rooms, its not just a backpackers)
- Windmills/Caterpillar and Catfish Cookhouse - at top of Oliviershoek Pass - www.cookhouse.co.za/contact.asp
Again depends if you coming along the R74 very bad road from Harrismith or down Van Reenen and through Bergville side.

I booked with Hlalanathi, prices are good and it seems like a nice place. Will report back after the weekend.

Hlalanathi is a gr8 spot. My wife and i have spent a good few days there in the chalets. We had the one right up against the cliff overlooking the amphitheatre. Just watch out for the dassies they are quite aggressive when it comes to wanting to take your food.
