Lesotho 4x4 Taxi

Lesotho 4x4 Taxi was created by Selous
Hi all

Would anybody know how much a Lesotho Taxi would cost from Underberg to Sani Top? Thabo's Tours wants to charge R400.00 for a one way trip. (I have no problem with that) I am just looking at a cheaper and maybe a fun alternative.

Doing a day walk at the end of August from Sani Top to Giants and just trying to reduce the logistical problem of cars

Regards
Selous

Sani Mountain Lodge (the new name for Sani Top) happened to send me their newsletter today with the following info. Sorry no contact details but I am sure you can google them. Half the price of your quote, but I wonder if you must be some sort of guest to be helped ?

"We have some great transport news for you who would prefer to be driven up to our Lodge and back down again – you may just want to be exposed to the beauty along the way instead of having to concentrate on the challenge of climbing the Pass. We now are ready to do just that with our own Sani Mountain Lodge 4x4 seven seater Prado. We have scheduled two trips up from the South African border post (with safe and plentiful parking) and two trips down every day:

Departure from SA Border Post going up – 11:30 and 15:30.
Departure from Lodge going down to Post – 10:30 and 14:30.

One way rate wi ll be R200 per person (or R400 pp roundtrip)."

Check with Sani Pass Backpackers too. They have almost daily tours going up there. A reduced fare can be negotiated if there is place available (since you are not doing the full tour). You can leave your car at their lodge. We did this once and then just managed to find a ride with someone going back down afterwards.

Take nothing but litter, leave nothing but a cleaner Drakensberg.
