GPS maps

I recently bought myself a Garmin Fenix 2 GPS watch for use in the Berg, was wondering if any of you know if there are any topo maps available for the Berg for this unit? I always take the paper maps along in any case, but it would sure be nice to have all this information available on the watch as well.

I tried out this "non-standard" feature on my Fenix about a year back using a lite version of SA maps which I found on the net - I must say that in the end I wished I had not done it and eventually reset the watch back to default which was not trivial. The loaded map really slowed down the operation of the watch to such a degree that I would have to wait a considerable time everytime I pressed a button. Scrolling through the map was also painful with very slow screen writes/updates of the map data. The size of the screen was also too small to be of much use.
If you want to do it I used the following map:
www.gmaptool.eu/en/content/africa
Download and open in Basecamp and then upload a very small portion to your watch. The full map is 110MB but the watch only has 20MB of memory available. Remember that some of the 20MB is also needed for tracks and logging of hikes.
Good luck.
