Hi guys is there a list anywhere of Mafadi FKTs that includes route options? I'm wanting to attempt The climb in a day from Injisuthi... Andrew P I know you took a route up Apes pass a short while ago… How technical is that ?

@Mods: please move this to the correct thread.
Mafadi FKT is currently held by Ryan and Ryno, 5h47 iirc, via Corner Pass, NHA from Injisuthi. Previous record was AndrewP from Giants Castle via Judge Pass.
Previous records have included Apes Pass and Leslies Pass. I don't know of any other passes that have been used. Andrew's time on Apes was 7h59 iirc, vs 6h22 on Judge - it is further via Apes, I haven't done Apes, but I hear it is a nasty pass.
The rules don't specify which EKZN offices you have to start from - only that your timer starts and stops when you at an EKZN mountain register. Route has to be fully unsupported, so no gear stashes. Ryan and Ryno just moved onto the summit of Mafadi and began back down, Andrew actually ran across the summit. The rules only specify that you need to tag the highest point - so pick a cairn and touch it!
Passes in the area:
Leslies - slow due to the overgrown section at the bottom, but the shortest route with a trail
Corner - Northern High Approach from Injisuthi or Gully Approach from Giants. Limited trail, some scrambling required.
Around the Corner Pass - same approach options as Corner, but with a trail right to the top. Tops out lower than Corner and on a good trail that leads right up to Mafadi
Judge - best done from Giants Castle. You will be on a trail the entire way from Giants Camp to just before Mafadi. My vote for the fastest option.
Ignore Hilton and Injisuthi Pass on the maps - I can't comment on Hilton as I haven't done it, but the rumor continues to circulate that there are in fact live dragons on that one (although I am doubtful based on my research) [in case it wasn't obvious - reference to dragons being a reference to danger, not an actual large fire-breathing lizard]. Injisuthi Pass is not a pass, but a rock climbing route on very brittle unprotected rock - best avoided.

I see he went in via Poachers Stream which made it a bit longer, assume due to the river level
