Cathedral Peak Community Campsite (at Didima)
I have ready in a earlier post that the campsite at Didima had been closed, we had planned a trip there over Easter so I contacted them to confirm and find out a bit more.
I thought creating a separate post would help so that if there are any updates on the progress etc they can be posted.
Basically the campsite is closed indefinitely, but possibly open again in June/July 2017. There is some issue around the budget and community project etc, I didn't fully understand, but the basic of what I got was they were waiting for funds after April's budget or something like that before they will start work on the campsite.
If anyone has any update on the campsite going forward please let us know. I know for myself we probably use the Didima Campsite the most of all the EKZN campsites.

It is interesting to me that there are hundreds of millions supposedly available to build a cable-way but no petty cash to fix some bogs at a campsite!

Has anyone got a good suggestion for a camping spot/site close to Didima for the end of April?
We're driving from Pretoria/Potch and would only be able to get there around 18:00-19:00 because of a unmovable commitment for the first night.
I though of doing a little bit of night hiking to Barker's Chalet cave that is on the way and close by (planing Bell traverse, 2nd night Twins Annex, 3rd night Roland's) but as there are girlfriends/wives coming along I really don't want to attempt a river crossing at night.
Any suggestions?

Hi Des.
Thank you for your reply. Do you perhaps have a name/number of the place?
Thanks.
