Hmm, my Windguru spot point for Thomathu Cave is showing 108mm between today and Monday, so I would keep an eye out...

Looking at their map, the Berg south of Giants looks largely clear on Saturday. How do you get a specific forecast on the website without a pro account?
Ps. I am using the yr.no forecast for Mashai Pass.

Basically clear till 2PM - yr.no also has rain in the afternoon, although not nearly that much.
Mountain Forecast doesn't have anything south of Thabana (that I can find, anyway) - but has a massive amount of rain for Thabana on Saturday, throughout the day.
Our hike is an easy 35km trip up the Knuckles - I need 2 of the passes, and Hobbit also needs the khulus (I did the north and south passes, plus the khulus with AndrewP in 2015). At a push we can do that before midday, so we will hopefully be fine. Probably best to drive back straight after the hike to avoid driving in mud during a downpour.
Will keep an eye on the forecast, though.

Top of pass: about 200m and 30m down the river was running
Stream in pass before gully: had a small trickle
Spring: also a small trickle

In mid July it was as follows, it might be a bit better now after the recent snowfall:Dave wrote: Does anyone know the current water status at the top of Organ Pipes?

While going up Van Heyningens Pass 3 weeks ago, a group coming down the pass stopped to chat. They had stayed at the Blind Mans Corner campsite the night before, and confirmed that there was water in the stream, downstream of the campsite. So there should be water there still.

Update: There is water in the tributary that joins the Kakoatsan via the shallow valley descending from the top of Thuthumi Pass, but the parts of the stream that are running are barely trickles. I didn't explore further down, where there might be more of a flow, as I was able to fill up; but it took a long time. I also picked about a shopping bag's worth of litter out of the stream where the main path from the top of Organ Pipes crosses the tributary; it's really encouraging to know how much the locals appreciate their environment. We saw no water in the upper section of Organ Pipes Pass, though we turned off early and took The Camel.
