Not about Giants security, but about security and conservation in general: This past weekend some Wildlife rangers ambushed a dagga smuggler coming down Thuthumi Pass and confiscated 50 kg of dagga. I believe that these smugglers must be left alone as these confrontations will never stop this dagga trade. This smuggler has now lost months of work and income and has become a prime candidate to attack hikers and retrieve some of his loss. These rangers should rather concentrate on conservation, like the ongoing poaching problems and the the stopping of San painting vandalism. We picked up in a couple of San art sites that paintings/paint is/are being broken off and sold to Sangomas for ritual purposes. They are also scratching their names over the rock faces.
