The mountains are underestimated time and time again, especially by day hikers. How many people can be seen heading up the Chain Ladder for the day in shorts, T-shirt and jogging shoes - with no food, warm clothes, rain gear etc? Lots!
Even for easy, short hikes in the Berg always take with emergency cloths & food, a good jacket, cell phone, first aid kit, torch and a space blanket or bivy bag. And always sign the rescue register.
