Tugela Falls - Mont Aux Sources - Crow's Nest Cave

So, I see there's another cold front on the way...hopefully this will bring some water. Haven't seen any spring thunder showers as yet...must start soon right? Would be a shame to get up there and not see any falls.

I'm planning a trip with a small group (6 total) up to Tugela Falls, hopefully sleeping in Crows Nest Cave this weekend (20-21Sept). Just wanted to ask if anyone has been to Crows Nest lately and if it is still clean and recommended. This will be my first overnight at Tugela Falls specifically and any tips would be highly appreciated!

I last used this cave in 2024 and it was relatively clean just a lot of soot from open fires. If the group is fit enough i would consider extending the journey to Ifidi cave which is my preferred cave in the area.

Otherwise crows nest will work just fine, try to get there early incase any other travelers also plan to use the cave. I don't know what the max capacity of the cave is but i think 6 is very close to being full.

Have a great trip the berg should be beautiful this time of year and the sunrise from any of these caves is breathtaking.

Jip, as I understand it, 6 people is about the max you can have in Crows Nest. Thanks for suggesting Ifidi Cave, will definitely chat with the group, as it is definitely doable. But as you said, all the views from the caves are amazing, just hoping for some good weather.
