Been meaning to post this update: Des' wife Jeanne passed away on Oct 30th at the age of 80. A picture of her on the first ascent of Champagne Castle South Gully appears on page 73 of Encounters with the Dragon.

Yes indeed.

I recall several photos of Des and Jeanne in some of the older 'berg books, Cradle of Rivers, Drakensberg of Natal etc.
