Hi Sabine,
I did that section last year November and it was quite overgrown. Navigation was not a problem though - just a fair bit of bundu bashing. There was only one point crossing a riverbed where we lost the trail a bit - can send you the GPS location if you wish. It is however clear that the contour path does not get a lot of traffic.
When ascending Tseketseke Pass 2 weeks ago I saw that there was a fair amount of controlled burning done in the area around the contour path - which should make life easier for you
