Hello. I planned a Mafadi trip this year, but due to all that rain I'm recalculating

So, I'm planning to do the Giant's Pass - Langalibalele circle. Which way would you suggest we hike it: north to south or south to north?
Thanks!

How many days, and do you want to climb Giants Castle peak too?

4/5 days. We might climb the peak, but it's not a necessity. I thought rather going up Giants pass than down?

It depends how you want to structure your days and how fit your group is, but 4 days gives you plenty time.

I would then do like this
1) Camp on contour path below Giants Castle, Giants ridge and then right onto contour path where you'll find a flat section, about 8km
2) Up Giants pass, up the peak and camp near Makhaza, or can use the summit cave if the group is small enough, about 6km but lots of climbing
3) Head north on escarpment and camp around the top of Langies, preferably a little north of it, about 12km
4) Down Langies pass back to the car, about 9km

So, we went up Giants Pass end of April. It was absolutely stunning! Water availibility still high up in the pass. The scree was a bit of a challenge, but fortunately it lasts only that long! I must say, it was the coldest I ever experienced in the Berg that night (I think, it's like labour pains, you tend to forget

). We got into our tents just after !7h00 just to keep body temperature. My tentmate and I both slept with our 90/10 down jackets ánd the down Kilimanjaro Kway down sleeping bag!!
Getting over Mount Dunford west gap was an absolute breeze. Thank you for all the info!! We met a couple of shepherds every day, asking for sweets and cigarettes, but they were all very friendly
Check the fantastic, albeit very cold sunrise with Long Wall to the left of the photo. Lovely!!!!
