Well done Andrew, glad that you have done False Tseketseke Pass too.

Seems that your experience of it was quite similar to mine.

The whole point of False Tseketseke Pass isto start down the gully leading down from the huge saddle between Cockade and Cleft. The gully hits a few impressive cliffs and waterfalls, so it is necessary to do a whole lot of dodging backwards and forwards along to the north of the main gully grass bands, sneaking down through the cliffs.

About halfway down the steep stuff, Tony and I saw an alternative top gully. Seen here from the campsite above Ribbon Falls.

Using this gully rather defeats the point of the pass, as it tops out in the middle of no-where and has no barriers or obstacles to get excited about. But, as I had nothing better to do, I decided it needed to be tried out. It is of course good to get one up on Tony and I am please to say he now has something to do when he returns :-)

So, I dropped down the top gully of False Tseketseke and started traversing out to the left. Once I reached this gully, I trotted back to the summit.

The best clue I can give to finding the gully from the top is to walk along the ridge leading southwards from Cockade. At the highest point, you will see a pinnacle. Just south if this is a small saddle and the top of the gully.
