Cockade - Half Organ Pipes Day Walk

Hi All

Just a quick summary trip report of a recce day walk that I did for an intended route with some friends and family this weekend. The weekend Route has now changed to Cockade - Tseketseke Pass as I felt that the original route choice of Cockade - Organ Pipes Pass was going to be too long and a bit tough for some. Also just a quick mention to Peter Louw (Plouw) for the help with some pictures of the Cockade Camp site

Left at 6:15am from Cathedral Peak
Made the Junction of Xeni and Cockade Rivers by 10am
Top of Cockade Pass by 11:15am
Made Organ Pipes Pass by 1:30Pm
Left Organ Pipes by 2pm
checked out Camel Route-Not for me thanks
Halfway to old fire look out we ridged it down to Contour Path
Followed path past Tryme Hill
watched moon rise over mikes Pass
Back at Cathedral Peak car Park by 7:20Pm
13 hours and 37Km

Thats pretty good going!

I know most of that route well and have to say: that was good going to do it in 13 hours.

I noticed this path heading up from the Organ pipes Pass and I assume it must link into Thuthumi Pass/Smugglers route - Tony Marshall and Intrepid might know
