Thanks for the writeup, and nicely done! Giants Pass is one of my favourites, mostly because of how the towering cliffs surround you.

JonWells wrote: I was surprised at how small the top of this peak was, not much space to move around like on most other peaks. It also felt rather exposed and fairly unsafe, and I was pretty eager to get down as soon as I could, especially with it being so windy with wet slippery rock all around us.

I find this issue, rather than size, is the size of the few flat rocks to sit on! That scramble was very intimidating the first time I did it, but the second time I realised that the death-fall exposure is more perceived than real - there is a big enough ledge that you probably won't fall that far. But the first time I did it, I was very aware of the 1km+ drop, and also wanted to get off it as quickly as possible!

Never heard anyone complain about Durnford Ridge before

Nice one chaps. Pity about the harassment for sweets. I've heard that the locals near the top of Mashai Pass have been using similar hostile tactics recently to extort sweets and drinks from hikers.

Excellent write-up. Giant's Pass is on my to-do list this year. Hopefully it is as successful as your trip!
