Hi All
Anyone recently stayed at the Mweni Cultural Centre. Is it still in good condition for a base and overnight before and after our trek up the Mountain.
Also wondering if the low-water bridge is still OK to cross after the heavy rains and floods in the area.

Returned from Mnweni yesterday. The roads are extremely muddy. Most cars had to be pulled out with a tractor at certain places. I would not advise to go there until it has dried out a bit. The low water bridges are ok.
The centre is still good, with beds and hot water. Lots of people were there over the Eater weekend.

Thanks Sabine. Great to hear the centre is well looked after. And that the bridge is in tact. Will keep an eye on the weather conditions before we head there end of the month.

What is the preferred road nowadays? Do you cross the banana bridge over the Woodstock dam and then turn left ad Duduza OR do you turn left at the P388 sign just before the bridge?

Every time I go that way, I am coming from Durban side, so take the P388.

I've found both about the same, sometimes I do one in and another out. Banana bridge way is scenic.
They were working on the road on the Banana bridge way earlier last year (the dirt road part)

I prefer to take the road just before the bridge
