Royal Natal day hikes

I spent a couple nights at the Mahai campsite early last week and got in a couple day hikes at Royal Natal.
As with Cobham most of the trees at the campsite have been cut down, not much of a problem in winter but in summer shade will be in high demand.
The plan for day 1 was to go to Witsieshoek for lunch.
I went up via the Crack (just before they started burning a firebreak), had a toasted sandwich, chips, unlimited coffee and WiFi at Witsies for all of R35. Headed down to Gudu Falls with a 15 second dip in the pools above the falls, and down via Mudslide. I really enjoyed going down here, although I wouldn't recommend doing it solo.... about 15 ladders and a couple chains to descend.
Round trip of 17km with 950m altitude gain

On my second day I headed up Tugela gorge, I wanted to check out Tunnel cave and also boulder hop a bit further upstream than I had previously.
Tunnel cave
Amazing view from the cave!
Almost under Beacon Buttress
As far as I ventured up before facing steep wet rocks, Tugela Falls left of centre

Wow, nearly didn't recognize Mahai campsite with the trees cut off!
