Thanks for the replies.
If anyone was at either of these two places some time since July this year, it would be great if they could pop a line on the water availability.

Just for future reference, the water described above at Centenary hut was still good this past weekend. Took about 20min to fill up about 10 litres.

Thanks - helpful to know and well tested at the end of a very dry winter.
The location of the water as described by HF is:
" The trickle below the contour path close to Centenary"
I think I know where this is - could someone spell it out in more detail? Do you walk towards Corner Pass from Centenary to reach the water?

I think what John Mark describes is a water collection point on the contour path heading towards Corner Pass (standard route). The other collection point I was referring to, and even had a faint trial most of the times we were there, is East-South-East below the hut. A little bundu bashing to get there (not much).
Actually the contour path crossing point is more likely to have water in dry season, just a bit further from the hut.

Hi, hopefully this clears it up.
From the hut there is a reasonably clear trail that contours below, but parallel to the contour path. It heads off South I.e. in the direction of corner pass. It stays on pretty much the same elevation as the hut, i.e. does not require one to go down or up
This is what it looks like (you can see the path faintly)
And with the path drawn in red
From up topsides it looks like this
with the path I used drawn in red
Incidentally I have in the past tried the next stream i.e. the stream that Highlands Fanatic marked as 'Johan Mark water point (?)' I tried it lower down that what Highlands Fanatic marked it. The water there was not nearly as good or strong flowing as the water point I have marked in the above pics.
