For 2020 I propose we keep the current category format which is:

2 annual rounds, with one open category, and the other category being easy enough to attract broad participation
2 bi-annual rounds with more specific themes

Does anyone have any comments or ideas on any changes they would like to see to the above?

Please can we have suggestions for the themes!

As mentioned earlier, we will be looking at implementing a different voting system this year.

Take nothing but litter, leave nothing but a cleaner Drakensberg.

I wish to thank Richard for the great prize that he has sponsored for the Photo Challenges. I have just picked up my copy, signed by Richard himself and making this even more special. The timing is great and Lockdown is looming. If I did not have to still be working during this period..would it not have been great to wander around in the mountains for 3 weeks..

2nd Best now is to page through "Spirit of the Drakensberg" and see the berg from all different new angles.

Here are my proposals for the next round of photo competitions:

Open category (annual)
My Favourite Camping Spot! (annual)
The voting for these 2 categories will be by a panel of judges made up of the VE moderator/advisory team.

Berg Fever During Lockdown (bi-annual) - this will be a fun category demonstrating how you are longing for the Berg at home
Peak Perspectives: The Sentinel (bi-annual)
The voting for these categories will be through Facebook. The entries will be uploaded to the VE page and the winner will be the image that attracts the most number of likes.

Take nothing but litter, leave nothing but a cleaner Drakensberg.
